How It Got Started

As a kid, around the age of 10-11, I would write random bits or poetry. I never read poetry at the time, I just loved rhyming words. So, I wrote poetry since then, and created my own stories in poems. I guess it was a way for me to speak since I was and still am extremely shy. It wasn’t until freshman year in high school that I actually read poetry. It was cool to see what famous poets wrote. I still don’t read poetry though, and this is because I have a fear of accidentally copying another’s work. Anyway, a good friend of mine suggested I start a blog for my poetry, she even helped me with the name for it, Writing Out Loud. Hope you enjoy some of my content:)
