~My lights are out but my mind doesn’t seem to care

~That’s not a monster, it’s just my hoodie hanging there

~I’m so focused on what my head is telling me

~I don’t even care that the dark doesn’t allow me to see

~My Feet are out of the blanket but I don’t even mind

~My tears and the dark have made me blind

~I don’t even stay quiet to listen for sounds

~I don’t even freak out over the little pounds

~It’s just my house, and I’m just inside my head

~I curl up into a ball on my twin sized bed

~As the tears stop I start to embark

~This is how I knows it’s bad, when I’m not afraid of the dark
